Description

This ornamental drinking fountain, dating from 1900, is located opposite No. 8 on Race Hill in Launceston. It is constructed from dressed granite and features a Gothic-style panel niche set against a rubble wall. In front of the niche is a monolithic granite trough, which has four pointed-arched panels. The niche itself includes squat nook shafts that support a moulded two-centred arch, topped with a steep gable adorned with carved kneelers and a fleur-de-lis finial.
