Description
71 Bridge Street in Montrose is a public house and coaching inn dating from around 1800, with later additions and alterations. The building is two storeys high and features a gable front with two bays, finished in painted render with plain margins.
On the west elevation, which is the principal side, there is a gable end with a door to the right and a window to the left at ground level. Above, there are two windows centered on the first floor. To the right, there is a single-storey flat-roofed addition that includes two windows and a door at the far right.
The north elevation is joined to the adjoining building at 65-69 Bridge Street, while the south elevation has three bays on the first floor.
The windows on the first floor and in the flat-roofed addition are four-pane timber sash and case style. The pitched roof is covered with brown machine tiles and features painted, coped skews. There is a gablehead stack on the west side.
