Description
The Somers Arms is a coaching inn and public house, now converted into a house, dating from around 1810 to 1820, and possibly incorporating an earlier structure. It is built of brick with a plain tiled roof, featuring a brick modillion cornice and brick stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in three bays, with the central bay being slightly advanced and topped by an open pediment. The outer bays have tripartite glazing bar sash windows, while the centre has a single sash window. There is a later 19th-century glazed and panelled door beneath an overlight, which is sheltered by a gabled hood supported by plain uprights. To the left, there is a lower wing with two bays, also comprising a single storey and attic.
