Description

Early to earlier 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay house in irregular terrace. Sandstone ashlar with render repairs, dry-dashed to rear. Base course, band course above ground floor, projecting eaves cornice and blocking course with central panel.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: pend entrance to right at ground, entrance to centre with modern pedestrian door, windows flanking. 3 bays at 1st floor slightly off-set to right, centre window blinded. 2 canted slate-hung dormers above outer bays.

N ELEVATION: adjoining 43-45 Bridge Street.

S ELEVATION: adjoining 51-57 Bridge Street.

E ELEVATION: large, projecting bowed stairtower to centre with window at attic level.

4-pane timber sash and case windows, 12-pane to stairtower. Graded grey slate pitched roof, coped skews, skewputts. Broad and tall gablehead stack to N, 2 brick gablehead stacks to S.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coped, squared sandstone boundary wall to E, adjoining pitched roof ancillary structure.
