Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, attic and basement, 3-bay house in irregular terrace on ground falling to rear. Sandstone ashlar to front, squared rubble to rear. Raised, painted margins.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: Symmetrical. Central pilastered doorpiece with entablature, rectangular fanlight. Windows centred above at 1st floor. Bays flanking; small lights to basement, windows at ground and 1st floor, canted dormers above.

N ELEVATION: adjoining 18/20 Bridge Street.

S ELEVATION: adjoining 24 Bridge Street.

W ELEVATION: irregular fenestration, addition at ground with cast-iron brattishing, canted bay window at raised ground floor to right.

4-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded, grey slate pitched roof, coped skews. Broad, brick gablehead stacks. Decorative cast-iron gutter brackets.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubble boundary walls to rear (W).
