Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey and basement, 4-bay, rectangular-plan house on ground falling to rear. Lined render over sandstone ashlar to front, squared rubble to sides and rear. Band course beneath ground floor and at eaves, eaves cornice and blocking course.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 2-step flight and platt oversailing basement and leading to consoled and corniced entrance, rectangular, panelled door, 2-pane fanlight. Window centred above at 1st floor. Bay to left and 2 bays to right with window at ground and 1st floors. Door to centre, and window in basement. Single bay addition to left.

N ELEVATION: blank gable end.

S ELEVATION: adjoining 14 Bridge Street.

W ELEVATION: irregular fenestration. Modern, cantilevered timber with timber stilts, conservatory and patio to right at raised ground floor.

Timber sash and case windows, plate glass. Grey slate pitched roof, coped skews, skew putts. Ashlar gablehead stacks.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: rubble boundary walls to rear (W). Brick wall with weep-holes dividing garden at W end. Cast-iron railings upon coped base fronting house.
