Description
26 Bridge Street in Montrose is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey and attic house that is part of an irregular terrace on sloping ground. The front is rendered, while the rear is constructed from squared rubble, featuring a blocking course.
On the principal elevation facing east, there is a consoled and corniced entrance to the left, which includes a four-panel door and a rectangular fanlight above it. A window is centered above the entrance on the first floor. To the right, there is a bay with windows at both the ground and first floors, along with a sunken piended dormer.
The north elevation is adjacent to 24 Bridge Street, and the south elevation is next to 28/30 Bridge Street. The house features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, although the dormer has a modern window. The roof is pitched with grey slate and has coped skews, along with brick gablehead stacks.
The property is enclosed by rubble boundary walls at the rear.
