Description
28 Bridge Street in Montrose is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey and attic house that forms part of an irregular terrace, situated on sloping ground at the rear. The front features lined render, while the rear is constructed from squared rubble, with a base course.
The principal elevation is symmetrical, with paired doorways at the center that have six-panel doors and rectangular fanlights adorned with decorative glazing. Above, there is a stone-mullioned tripartite window on the first floor, flanked by blinded four-pane sidelights. The flanking bays contain windows on both the ground and first floors, with sunken piended dormers above.
To the north, the house adjoins 26 Bridge Street, and to the south, it adjoins 32/34 Bridge Street. The windows are timber sash and case, with plate glass and four-pane designs in the dormers. The roof is pitched and covered with grey slate, featuring coped skews and brick gablehead stacks.
At the rear, there are rubble boundary walls.
