Description
8 Harbour Street in Irvine is an early 19th-century building that has been converted into a public house. It is a two-storey structure with an attic and a rectangular plan, featuring three bays. The exterior is painted and harled with plain margins and a base course.
On the northwest, or principal elevation, there is a central entrance with a window above it. The flanking bays are symmetrical, each containing windows on the ground and first floors. Above, there is a modern five-light dormer.
The northeast and southwest elevations are attached to adjacent properties. The windows are made of plate glass in timber sash and case style, and the roof is covered with grey-green slates. There are stone skew details on the northeast side and stone gablehead stacks.
The interior was not seen during the inspection in 1997.
