Description
10 Harbour Street in Irvine consists of early 19th century adjoining properties that are two stories tall with an attic. The buildings are harled with plain ashlar margins, and feature lintels at the eaves, an eaves band, and a cornice.
Number 10 has three bays, with a central doorpiece that is pilastered and corniced, along with two recessed steps leading to a window above on the first floor. The flanking bays are symmetrical, and there are three bipartite flat roof dormers above. At the rear, there is a bowed stair tower.
Number 12 has two bays, with an entrance pend to the left featuring a segmental arch and a plain doorway within. Above the pend is a window, and there are additional windows in the bay to the right, with bipartite dormers that match those of Number 10, offset to the left.
The windows are boarded, and the timber dormers feature 12-pane sash and case designs. The roofs are covered with grey-green slates, and there are stone skews and broad gablehead stacks, with brick used for Number 12.
The interior was not seen in 1997.
