Description
19 Tolbooth Street in Kirkcaldy is a public house built in the mid to later 19th century. It is a two-storey building with three bays, featuring a painted render exterior. The design includes base and first-floor cill courses, along with a bracketed and modillioned eaves course. The doorways have block pedimented heads, and the windows are adorned with corbels, brackets, and lugged architraves, as well as stop-chamfered arrises.
On the west (principal) elevation, the ground floor has a deep-set timber door at the center, which is topped by a consoled pediment and flanked by wide timber doors that also have pedimented heads. The first floor features windows in the center and in the bay to the right, while to the left there is a corbelled canted tripartite window with a turret roof.
The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in timber sash and case frames. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with cans.
The interior of the building is modern.
