23 Tolbooth Street, Kirkcaldy

25 Tolbooth Street in Kirkcaldy is a three-storey, six-bay tenement building dated 1785. It features coursed rubble with some droved sections, harled sides and rear, and raised long and short quoins. The building has a base course over a rendered plinth, an eaves lintel course, and an eaves cornice. The doorcases are pedimented, with a carved date and floral designs above the lintel, and there is a door to the right with a pediment. The windows are arranged in vertical ashlar bands.

The west elevation is symmetrical, with a door located in the bay to the right of the centre, adorned with an anthemion on the pediment, and flanked by windows. The bays to the left of the centre also have a door and flanking windows. Each floor above has regular fenestration.

The east elevation features a round stair tower that projects at the centre, with two windows to the right and left of the centre on each floor. The building has 12- and 15-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows, concrete pantiles, and ashlar-coped skews with scroll skewputts.
