49, 51, 53 Marischal Street in Aberdeen is a later 18th century townhouse, featuring two storeys with an attic and a three-bay design on a sloping site. The building is constructed from grey granite ashlar and includes an eaves band. The central entrance consists of a timber door with a box light, flanked by double-leaf doors that also have box lights. The outer bays feature multi-glazed fixed pane windows. The roof is single pitched and has a pair of canted box dormers.

On the first floor, there are 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The rear of the building, which faces Shore Lane, is three storeys high and has irregular fenestration, including arched windows at the ground floor. The roof is covered with grey slate. The right side features ashlar skew, and there is a coped ridge stack made of granite ashlar on the street elevation, while the rear has a red brick stack with clay cans.
