44 Marischal Street, Aberdeen

44 Marischal Street in Aberdeen is a townhouse built around 1789 to 1821. It has three stories and an attic, featuring a two-bay design on a sloping site. The exterior is made of grey granite ashlar and includes an eaves band. The recessed doorway on the right has a timber panelled door, which is flanked by Tuscan columns that support a large fanlight. To the left of the doorway, there is a pair of windows. The second-story windows are adorned with cast-iron plant railings.

At the rear, the building has a five-story elevation, and there is a second-floor window on the principal east elevation at pavement (basement) level. The roof features a pair of tripartite, canted piended dormers. The windows throughout the building are multi-pane timber sash and case with glazed margins. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there is a red brick stack on the left gable with granite ashlar facing. The building also has an ashlar skew, clay cans, and recessed cast-iron rainwater goods.
