46 Marischal Street, Aberdeen

46 Marischal Street is a townhouse built between 1789 and 1821, featuring three stories and an attic, with a three-bay facade set on a sloping site. The building is constructed from grey granite ashlar and includes an eaves band. The central bay has a recessed doorway with a timber panelled door and a cast-iron fanlight above, flanked by Tuscan style columns. There are tall, narrow glazed openings on either side of the doorway, with windows in the outer bays. The second storey windows are adorned with cast-iron plant railings.

At the rear, the building has a five-storey elevation with irregular fenestration and a pair of tripartite, canted piended dormers. The first-floor windows are multi-pane timber sash and case with glazed margins. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there is a red brick stack on the left gable with granite ashlar facing. The building also features an ashlar skew, clay cans, and recessed cast-iron rainwater goods.
