12 And 14 Virginia Street And 16 Shore Lane

12 and 14 Virginia Street and 16 Shore Lane is a large warehouse building dating from the mid-19th century and 1897, as indicated by the date on the structure. It features a prominent five-storey and attic design with seven and thirteen bays, located on a corner site. The building is notable for its corner corbelled turret that breaks the eaves, topped with fish-scale slating. The exterior is constructed from squared and coursed granite, with a rock-faced finish at the ground level and rubble at the rear. There are band courses, cill courses, and an attic course on 12 Virginia Street. The Shore Lane side has a run of three gables, with a ball finial at the apex of No 16. The ground floor includes some large rectangular openings, some of which have timber sliding doors.

The windows are predominantly barred fixed six-pane timber windows with timber astragals, although there are also some casement windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are gable stacks.

Inside, the building features timber flooring and a timber staircase leading to 16 Shore Lane. There are concertina doors for the lifts, some four-panel timber doors, and steel columns and beams throughout the interior.
