Description
This building is a warehouse known as The Furniture Loft, dating from the mid-19th century. It features slatestone rubble walls with granite quoins, strings, voussoirs, and ground floor jambs. The roof is made of dry Delabole slate with a hipped design and projecting eaves, supported by cast-iron ogee gutters. The structure has a rectangular plan and stands three storeys tall, with a five-window range. The windows are segmental arches with projecting keyblocks, containing 6-pane, 2-light casements.
On the ground floor, there is a wide three-bay shop front on the left, which includes 20th-century plate glass. There is also a wide doorway with 20th-century doors and sidelights, alongside a small window with an original 2-pane hornless sash at the far right. The left-hand end elevation has a central doorway on each floor, with the upper floor doorways now slate-hung. The second floor retains the remains of a hoist and a corbel to the right of the doorway. Additionally, there is a pair of old boarded doors on the ground floor and a splayed corner on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
