Description
No. 17 Baytree Hill is a mid-19th century town house with a shop. The building features stucco on masonry and has an asbestos slate roof with a pedimented front. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window front. The original first-floor windows are 12-pane hornless sashes set within moulded recessed surrounds that have apexed heads and sills supported by consoles. There is a moulded cornice beneath the triangular pediment, which includes a central round-headed hornless sash. The ground floor has a late 19th-century double shop front with end pilasters featuring consoles, and an entablature above the fascia that has a bracketed and dentilled cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
