Description
No. 20 Pydar Street is a small town house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and features incised stucco on studwork on the front, with an asbestos slate roof that has a large central gable dormer. The building has a double-depth plan with the shop located at the front. It stands two storeys plus an attic and has a two-window range. The windows are late 19th or 20th century horned four-pane sashes set within moulded wooden architraves. There is a moulded eaves cornice. The shop front, which dates from the late 19th or early 20th century, has a splayed entrance towards the right, with terminal pilasters that have paired consoles and a sloping fascia topped with a moulded cornice. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century, and the first floor has not been inspected.
