Description
24 and 25 Pydar Street are a pair of town houses dating from the early 19th century, with No. 25 currently functioning as a shop. The buildings are constructed from local rubble with granite dressings and feature a slate roof, along with two brick axial stacks. The right-hand gable is covered in slate hanging. The design is a double-depth mirror-image plan, consisting of three storeys and a symmetrical two-window front. There is a plinth and slightly cambered arches with keyblocks above the doorways at both ends, with a four-panel door on the left. The windows feature original hornless sashes with glazing bars, except for a 20th-century window on the ground floor to the right, which has a lowered sill. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century, and the rest has not been inspected.
