Description
No. 16 Pydar Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and features incised stucco on studwork at the front, with a slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, displaying a symmetrical three-window front. It has a plinth and quoin strips, with a central doorway that has a hood supported by carved consoles. The doorway contains a 20th-century door and overlight. Flanking the doorway are 20th-century shop windows, which are tripartite hornless sashes with glazing bars and a moulded fascia. The original first-floor windows are 12-pane hornless sashes, located beneath a moulded eaves cornice. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century, and the first floor has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
