Description
Largely unremarkable two storey house of probable late 19th century origin set on the E side of the Killakin Road (near the junction with the Ballydorn Road, c.1 mile N of the village of Killinchy. Front W facade has an odd asymmetric arrangement (which looks at first glance as though it were symmetrical) with a left of centre panelled and glazed door with a window (now with PVC frame) to the left and one to the right. To the first floor are two similar windows. The S gable is blank and the N gable has a window (as front) to the left on the ground floor. The rear is dominated by a very large two storey gabled return (added 1941) with large modern PVC windows and a modern rear door. To the rear gable of this return is a further single storey gabled extension with similar windows and door. The rear facade of the original house has a single window (as front) to the first floor. The entire facade is finished in rough cast and painted, apart from the front S gable which are unpainted and covered in climbing plant growth. The main roof and the return roof are covered in Bangor blue slates with two yellow brick chimneys (with matching parapets) to the main roof and a single rendered chimney to the return. The roof of the single storey extension has asbestos free slates. PVC rw goods.
