Description
This is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century, situated in a row on the north side of Middle Street in Montacute. The exterior is constructed primarily of Ham stone, with a near-ashlar finish. The roof is covered with Welsh slate over stone slate base courses, featuring a plain east gable and a continuation to the west. A stone chimney stack is also present. The cottage is two storeys high and has a single bay. It features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set within wave moulds and hollow-chamfered recesses, with square heads and no labels. Each window has four lights per level, with three-centre arched tops featuring incised spandrils and king mullions. To the right of the upper window is a small-pane steel casement window within a wooden frame. Below this, a doorway has been blocked. Access is now to the rear of the property. The interior has not been inspected.
