Description

Carents Cottage is a semi-detached cottage with origins in the 17th century. It is constructed of Ham stone ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof laid over stone slate base courses and coped gables. A brick chimney stack is also present. The cottage is two storeys high and features a single bay. It has hollow-chamfered mullioned windows in chamfered surrounds; the lower window has had its mullions removed and replaced with a casement. To the right of the window is a moulded cambered-arched doorway containing a 19th-century boarded door. A continuous string course runs along the ground floor, stepping up over both the window and doorway. A 20th-century casement window is found in the west gable, and there are 20th-century single-storey extensions to the rear. The interior of the cottage was not inspected.
