Description

Jasmine Cottage is a cottage at the end of a row, built in the 17th century style, though the front was rebuilt in the 1830s. It is constructed of ham stone ashlar with a plain clay tiled roof, coped gables, and a stone slab chimney stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. It features chamfer-mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses; the upper windows are two-light and the lower three-light, with steel opening lights and rectangular leaded panes. A blocked, cambered arched doorway is located centrally on the ground floor, with incised spandrels and a continuous label/string stepped up over the doorway. A stone plaque inscribed "NB 1830" is positioned between the first-floor windows. The west gable end has a straight joint, suggesting an earlier fabric, and now incorporates a 20th-century doorway and two two-light mullioned windows. A rear extension is present. The interior was not inspected.
