Description
Estate Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has undergone some restoration. It is built from ham stone that is cut and squared to near-ashlar, with ashlar dressings. The roof features fish-scale clay tiles with a stone ridge between coped gables, and there are brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage is two stories tall and has three bays, with a single-story, one-bay addition to the east.
The windows are three-light hollow chamfered mullioned windows with rectangular leaded panes, arranged in pairs on the ground floor, separated by stone panels that have semi-circular arched niches. The central entrance doorway is in a flat-headed chamfered opening beneath a massive lintel, with a continuous label over the ground floor openings, which is raised over the doorway. There are no labels above the first-floor windows. The extension features a matching four-light window, likely from the 20th century, with a plain entrance door beneath a timber and tiled porch. The interior has not been seen.
