Description
Silverweed Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located in East Coker. It is constructed of rubble with exposed timber lintels and features a thatched roof with plain verges and a central brick chimney stack. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. The first bay has a plain entrance door, followed by a three-light leaded casement window in the second bay, and a panelled entrance door in a chamfered ashlar surround with a heavy stone lintel over. The third bay has a three-light horizontal bar casement window. Above the second and third bays, there are three-light casement windows with some leaded rectangular panes set into the thatch. The interior has not been seen. Attached to the east side is Bwthyn Back Cottage, which is no longer thatched and has a completely 20th-century external character, making it of no special interest.
