Description

Verandah Cottage is a cottage, possibly dating back to the 17th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with exposed timber lintels and has a thatched roof, with a hipped north end. Brick chimney stacks are set on stone bases at both ends and on one side. The single-story building has an attic and a three-bay west facade. The windows are of an 18th-century style, with a single-light casement window with glazing bars in the first bay, a boarded entrance door in the second bay, and a three-light ovolo mould leaded casement window in the third bay. A small, plain light is set into the thatch above the entrance door, with a two-light leaded casement window also set into the thatch in the third bay. The interior has not been inspected. The verandah is no longer present, although the bases of its posts remain.
