Description
Slade's Farm House is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th century, featuring modifications from the 18th century and later. It is constructed from local stone rubble with Ham stone dressings and has a thatched roof between coped gables. The building is two stories high and has four bays. The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned types with large rectangular leaded panes, and some retain old casement stays. The ground floor windows are four-light with labels above, while the first-floor windows in bays one and three are three-light without labels. There is a part-glazed entrance door in bay two, which is set within a 20th-century porch. Additionally, there is a single-storey thatched extension to the east. Although the interior was not seen, it has been reported that parts of two jointed cruck frames are visible.
