Description

Townsend Farm House is a 17th-century farmhouse located in East Coker. It is constructed of roughly squared and coursed local stone with Ham stone dressings, and has a fish-scale clay tile roof with coped gables. A brick chimney stack and one rendered chimney are also present. The building is single-story with an attic, and features a double-gabled facade of two bays. It has hollow chamfered mullioned windows with rectangular leaded panes, except for the lower bay, where casements are fitted, with labels above. The ground floor windows are five-light, and those set into the gables are three-light. A plain entrance doorway is centrally located. The interior was not inspected.
