Description

The Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the 17th century, with later modifications. It is constructed of roughly cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings, and has a plain clay tiled roof laid over stone slate base courses. Stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks are also present. The cottage is two storeys high and has four bays. The upper floor has small-pane casement windows of 2, 4, 3, and 3 lights respectively. The ground floor features hollow chamfered mullioned windows with unworked top mitres, set in chamfered recesses with labels. The ground floor windows are 3-light in bays 2 and 3, and 2-light in bay 4, all with rectangular leaded panes and some iron framed opening lights. A glazed door is located between bays 2 and 3, and a pair of timber garage doors, set under a timber lintol, are in the lower bay 1. A later extension is visible to the rear. The interior was not inspected.
