Description
Brooke House is a detached house dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, with later modifications. The house is constructed of ham stone ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof over stone slate base courses, and stone chimney stacks. The south-east elevation has three bays and is two storeys high. It features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses. The lower windows have a continuous label that steps up over the doorway, with a three-light window above and a four-light window below, both with large diamond-leaded panes. A moulded flat arched doorway sits between the first and second bays. The west gable has later, two-light mullioned windows with labels. A mid-20th century extension is visible on the north elevation, built in matching ashlar and featuring triple roll clay tiles over stone slate base courses, and windows that match those on the west gable. The interior of the house was not inspected.
