Description

Manor Cottage is a 17th-century cottage, possibly originally two dwellings. It is constructed of local stone, cut into squared and coursed blocks, with exposed timber lintols. The roof was originally thatched and is now covered with concrete double Roman tiles. Brick chimney stacks are located at the ends and between the bays. The cottage is two storeys high and has four irregular bays. The original entrance was in the first bay, now blocked and containing a small window. A 20th-century door is located in the third bay, accessed by two steps. Most windows are small-paned, wooden casements of two or three lights. An angled bay window of three lights, featuring a hollow-chamfered mullion and an old centre casement, is located to the right of the first bay; this is likely an insertion or the reuse of materials.
