Description

Orchard Cottage is a cottage from the early 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier elements. It is built from local stone that is cut, squared, and coursed, with some parts rendered and colourwashed. The roof is thatched and hipped on the east and west sides, featuring brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage is single storey with an attic and consists of four bays, one of which is an addition with a rear entrance. It has two and three-light casement windows, with the upper windows in bays two and three set into the thatch. There is a plain single storey addition to the west, and evidence on the main west gable indicates that the roof has been raised.
