Description
Twenty Pence is a cottage that likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local stone that is cut, squared, and coursed, topped with a thatched roof, while an extension features double Roman clay tiles. The cottage has end chimney stacks, one made of brick and the other of stone. It is a single-storey building with an attic and consists of three bays, one of which is a 20th-century extension. There is also a further single-storey extension to the east and a lean-to on the west gable, which has a late 20th-century entrance door. The cottage features metal windows with horizontal bars in the first bay, while the other bays have timber casement windows. The lower windows are older than the upper ones, which are set into the thatch. Between the second and third bays, there is a small projecting stone porch, but the doorway is now blocked with a window.
