Description

North Coker Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of local stone, squared and cut, with dressings of Ham stone. The roof is covered in plain clay tiles between coped gables, with brick chimney stacks at the ends. The cottage is two storeys high with an attic, and originally had three bays. It features hollow chamfered mullioned windows with rectangular leaded panes on the ground floor; the windows in the first bay and the third bay have four lights each, while the central bay has three. A 20th-century half-glazed door sits under a timber and hipped tile porch. The first floor has three-light leaded steel casement windows set under exposed timber lintels; a matching window is found within a raked dormer, and a rooflight illuminates the first bay. A mid-20th century flat-roofed extension has been added to the south side. The interior of the cottage was not inspected during the listing process.
