Description
Batt's House and the attached shop to the west is an 18th-century building located in Victoria Square, Evercreech. The structure is built of rubble with coped verges and a slate roof, featuring brick stacks, including one on the right return of a projecting rubble chimney-breast. The main facade is L-shaped with two bays on one side and one bay on the other. It has two and three-light stone-mullioned windows with stopped labels, and each light contains a casement with glazing bars. The right bay projects under a front-facing gable. The entrance is located in the angle between the wings, featuring a panelled door and a flat-roofed rubble porch with a 4-centred head outer door opening. The shop on the left return has three 20th-century shop windows and a door, with three casements on the first floor. The building occupies an important roadside position.
