Description

Oxford House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is located on the High Street in Evercreech. The construction is of rubble with freestone dressings, and it has a triple-Roman tiled roof with coped verges and brick stacks, one of which is truncated. A stone cornice runs along the top, and the quoins alternate in freestone. The front of the house is symmetrical, with two storeys and three bays. It features 12-pane sash windows within edge-moulded stone architraves, each decorated with dropped keys. A central opening on the first floor is framed by a similar architrave, and contains a four-panelled door sheltered by a slab stone hood supported on cut stone brackets.
