Description

This stable, located in a field at the National Grid Reference ST 6486 3893, dates from the 18th century and incorporates earlier remains. It is constructed of rubble with a pantiled roof, featuring a coped verge topped with a finial. The south wall has a crenellated capping that serves as an "eye-catcher," aligning with the tower of the nearby Church of St Peter. The stable is rectangular in shape and single-storey, with a 4-centred head door opening to the east, framed in stone and fitted with paired plank doors that have iron strap hinges. On either side of the door are small lancet windows, also in stone surrounds. The wall facing the Church of St Peter has a broad blank door opening, with a blank pitching eye above it.
