Description
Cherri-Dene is a house that includes a former shop front, dating from the early 19th century, with an extension on the left end likely added in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of painted rendered stone rubble and features a slate roof with brick stacks at the gable ends and an axial brick stack. The layout consists of a shop to the right of the entrance passage and two heated rooms to the left, with the left room located in the added late 19th-century bay. There are service rooms in a one-and-a-half storey continuous outshut at the rear. The house is two storeys high and has a five-window range, with all windows being 12-paned sashes except for the second from the right, which is blind. The entrance features a six-panelled door with a small overlight. The shop front on the right end has flanking channelled pilasters and a plain fascia, incorporating a four-panelled door with glazed upper panels and an overlight to the left of a large 15-paned shop window with thick glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected. Cherri-Dene is noted as one of the few remaining unspoilt houses in Combe Martin.
