Description
The Powder House at Combe Martin Silver Mine is a mine powder house built in 1837. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a dry slate roof with gable ends. The building is a small, single-cell rectangular structure with the entrance located at the north end.
On the exterior, it is a single storey with a doorway on the left side of the north gable end, which has a timber lintel and a plank door. There is a window at the centre of the west side, also with a timber lintel and plank shutters.
Inside, the walls are limewashed, and the space is open to a reconstructed roof structure. The Combe Martin Silver Mine is historically significant as a documented Medieval mine.
