Corner hotel, now shops. Early C19. MATERIALS: limestone rubble with Ham Hill stone lower courses; slate roof with brick stacks to gable ends and right-of-centre. PLAN: double-depth plan. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 3-window range. 8/8-pane sashes to the front under wooden lintels to second-floor windows at eaves level; flat gauged arches to the first floor. The north-east corner is canted toward Hermitage Street, and has an eaves cornice to the front. No.3 to the far right has a C20 door with a C20 shop window to its left; No.1, to the left, has an 8/8-pane sash to the centre of the block and a 6-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight set in a round arch, set-back doorway to its left; to the left of that is a mid C19 projecting shop window of 2 rows of 4 panes. On the canted bay, at the corner, are mid C19 double doors with a large overlight of 2 panes. Above this, in worn paint are the words: DRAYTON'S TEMPERANCE HOTEL. The left return, in Hermitage Street, has a late C19, two-over-two-pane sash to ground-floor right, with 2 blind windows above, and 2-light casement windows to the left. INTERIOR not inspected.
