Description

Orchard Cottage is a cottage located at the end of a row in Stogumber, dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a thatched roof that is hipped to the right, with a tall brick chimney rising from the eaves and a stone chimney situated at the junction with No 9 Lower Vellow. The cottage has a plan that includes two cells and a cross passage. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with two-light 20th-century casement windows and a central plank door. On the right side, there is a dormer window next to the brick chimney.
