Description
Nos 7 and 9 in Lower Vellow are a pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the 17th century, which have been extensively altered in the late 20th century. They are constructed from red sandstone random rubble and feature a thatched roof with stone stacks located at the right junction with Orchard Cottage and to the left of the entrance to No 8. The cottages are arranged in an L-plan with a gabled cross wing on the left side. They are two storeys high and have a façade with one bay on the left and two bays on the right, displaying a mix of 19th and 20th century casement windows with two and three lights. The entrances consist of half-glazed doors, one located in the second bay on the right and the other to the right of the cross wing.
