Description
Woodhouse Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of near-ashlar ham stone and features a Welsh slate roof with high coped gables that suggest it may have originally had a thatched roof. The building has a T-plan layout, stands two storeys tall with attics, and consists of five bays.
The exterior includes hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in wave-mould recesses, with three-light windows in bays one, two, and three, and two-light windows in bays four and five. All windows have labels at both levels, with the windows in bays four and five sharing labels. A cambered-arched doorway, set in a wave-mould rectangular surround and under a deep lintel with a separate label, is located below bay two and features a boarded door of a later design.
On the south gable, there are two plain chamfer-mullioned windows on the ground floor and a hollow-chamfered mullioned window in the attic, the latter without a label. The north gable also has similar early two-light windows without labels. At the rear, there is a mid-18th century extension that includes two-light beaded-mullioned windows, some of which retain their original rectangular leaded panes. The interior has not been seen.
