Description
This 18th-century milestone is located at NGR ST 6923 4127 in Batcombe. It is a tall pier made of dressed stone and has a square shape. The milestone features incised lettering that faces the roadside, stating "To Batcombe 1 1/4 miles" along with a direction arrow. It is part of the former Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
