Description

Farmhouse and barn. Dating to the 16th century, with 19th and 20th-century alterations. The farmhouse is roughcast with a slate roof, brick stacks and large, late 20th-century gabled dormers. It has an L-shaped plan with a solar (a higher-status living space) on the first floor. The two-storey, two-bay garden front features three-light stone mullioned windows. Adjacent is a barn constructed of rubble with a slate roof, featuring two floor openings in passive stone frames. The rear wing of the farmhouse has stone mullioned and transomed windows with reserved chamfers; a 20th-century half-glazed door is set in a 20th-century opening. The interior appears predominantly refitted in the 19th century, however the kitchen in the rear wing retains a fireplace with a large wooden bressumer.
