Description

This is a milepost located on the roadside in Evercreech, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped design with a canted top. The raised lettering indicates distances to Batcombe (2 miles) and Shepton Mallet (5 miles). The top of the milepost is broken. It is part of the former Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
