Description
This is a milepost located on the roadside at NGR ST 6484 4869, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped design with a canted top. The raised lettering on the milepost indicates the distances to Cheltenham (50 miles), Shepton Mallet (4 miles), and Bath (13 miles). The milepost is situated adjacent to the Silver Jubilee Inn, which is not included in this listing. It is part of the Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
