Description

This is a milepost located on the roadside at Stratton-on-the-Fosse, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped design with a canted top. The milepost features raised lettering indicating the distances to Cheltenham (49 miles), Shepton Mallet (6 miles), and Bath (11 miles). It is part of the Shepton Mallet Turnpike Trust.
